RD SPORT HORSES - a little more about us THANKS FOR VIEWING OUR SITE RD SPORT HORSES is a horse sales company Richard has been around horses all his life. His Grandfather, who was one of Scotland’s largest Cattle Dealers bought Richard his first pony at the age of 3. Richard progressed through Pony Club competiting in several of the Interbranch competition with great success, before moving on to compete in both Junior and Senior ranks of BSJA. Richard trained under the eye of Brian Stephen in Liverpool during his later teenage years, where he learnt a phenomenal amount about the Horse Industry. Whilst there training with the Likes of John Brown (Former International Showjumper) & Alan Fazakerley. Richard then went onto train as a Farrier where after 4 and half year gained his Diploma of the Worshipful Company of Farriers. During his time training Richard began to sell horses in the North of Scotland. When he qualified he returned home, along with farrier duties continued to sell Horses. Richard then spent some time with International Showjumper Peter Murphy who Richard admires highly as one of the best producers, trainers and Riders in the UK. In 2006 Richard moved to Lesmahagow where is now solely concentrating on Selling Quality General Riding and Competition Horses. ‘We stock for every type of Customer, from your First Horse for Hacking to quality Riding Club Types, and also supply Competition Horses of which have some of the Best Breeding lines in Europe’ ‘We have excellent trial facilities and are open 7 days a week for you to view at a time that works into your schedule.
